It’s time for a National Anti-Corruption Commission
After eight long years in office, the LNP have refused to take any action to tackle corruption, leaving the Commonwealth as the only Australian government without a body dedicated to tackling corruption by public officials.
From the hundreds of millions spent on dodgy car parks and sporting grants to LNP electorates, to the billions of JobKeeper dollars misdirected to companies that increased their profits during the pandemic, it’s clear that it’s long past time for the establishment of a Commonwealth anti-corruption body.
An Albanese Labor Government will put an end to the Morrison Government’s shameful tolerance for corruption and help restore the Australian people’s trust in their government by establishing a powerful, transparent, and independent National Anti-Corruption Commission.
Serious corruption demands significant attention and meaningful action.
